Overton – Forage legumes can provide livestock producers some relief from the skyrocketing cost of applying nitrogen fertilizer to their pastures, said a Texas AgriLife Research scientist.
But there is a lot of "hype" surrounding forage legumes such as crimson or arrowleaf clovers, said Dr. Ray Smith, AgriLife Research legume breeder based in Overton.

National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Realizes
Significant Growth in 2008
DENVER (Oct. 27, 2008) - Membership and revenues increased significantly for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) in its 2008 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 30. NCBA membership grew 6.7 percent over the previous year to 30,647, while revenues from membership grew by 8.3 percent over fiscal 2007. Membership in the organization has grown 24 percent in the last 3 years.
