On March 4, 2009, the American Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA) held the 27th Annual ABBA International Brahman Sale in the Reliant Arena Sales Pavilion at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

The sale total was $181,950 with a sale lot average of $9,576.32.

The Sale consisted of 19 lots, consigned by some of the top Brahman breeding programs. Consignors included Bennett Farms, Bulls Eye Ranch, Erin Mayer, Fat Dog Ranch, Ganadera Karla Mary, Heritage Cattle Company, HK Cattle Company, J.D. Hudgins – Forgason Division, J.D. Hudgins – Hudgins Division, J.D. Hudgins – Locke Division, JS Genetics, La Muneca Cattle Company, OB Ranch, RB Ranch, Sagrera Brahmans, Smith Brahmans, Tic Tac Toe Ranch, V8 Ranch and Watts Ranch.

The overall high selling lot as well as high selling female was Miss V8 765/6 consigned by Sloan and Jim Williams of V8 Ranch in Boling, Texas. The lot was purchased by Bennett Farms of Choudrant, Louisiana and Bar W Enterprises of Ft. Worth, Texas for $38,000.

The high selling flush lot, consigned by HK Cattle Company, sold for $19,000. The flush of HK Ms Passport 125/7 was purchased by The Phoenix Group of Panama.

Before the sale, attendees mingled and ate at the pre-sale party sponsored by Brushy Creek Custom Sires.
