A crowd of over 250 people attended the 1st annual 3S Cattle Co. & Friends Grass Genetics Brahman Production Sale on Saturday, May 22. This ground breaking event was held at the Rusk County Ag. Expo. Center in Henderson, Texas and was hosted by Todd & Tanya Smith & family.
Buyers from Texas, Alabama, Kansas, Louisana, Arkansas & Oklahoma bid on a nice set of red & grey brahman cattle, with the high selling lot being an open heifer consigned by 3S Cattle Co; 3S Miss Red Nikki 97, an April 4, 2009 daughter of HVR 4/810. She sold for $4,200.00 to Circle T Cattle Co. of Church Point, LA. Herbert Riojas of Freer, Texas paid $3,400.00 for 3S Miss Red Allison 105, an October 16, 2009 daughter of HK X-RAY 782 from 3S Cattle Co. 3S Also consigned 3S Miss Red Holly 96, A March 21,2009 open daughter of HVR 4/810, who sold for $3,000.00 to Circle T Ranch. Detering Red Brahmans consigned DB Southern Style 599/8, an October 15, 2008 open heifer who is a daughter of DB Southern Style 17/2 who sold to Dollar Short Cattle Co of Bastrop, LA. for $ 2,850.00.
Dr. Ricky Hughes, DVM. of Donaldson, Ark. consigned the high selling pair, JDH Lady Burger Manso, an August 8, 2003 daughter Of JDH Remington Manso who sold with a May 19, 2010 heifer calf by Mr.Circle H 91 to Rocking 7 Ranch, Tonganoixe, Kansas for $2,600.00. Also selling for $2,600.00 Scott Ranch, Argle, Tx. consigned TT Miss Rojo Manso, a June 11, 2006 daughter of LB Mr.Derringer Manso 953/3 with a May 2,2010 heifer calf by JDH Emmett Manso going to Keith Hykel of West, TX. Selling for $2,500.00 was JDH Lady Manso 895/3, a September 14, 2001 daughter of JDH Charley’s Jazz 946/1 with a February 28, 2010 heifer calf by Mr.Mendel De Kallion 50 consigned by Alta Vista Brahmans of Goliad, Tx. selling to Graham Farms, Morganza, LA.
Scott Ranch also consigned the high selling bred female TT Miss Scarlett a June 17, 2006 daughter of LB Mr. Derringer Manso 953/3. She was heavy bred go JDH Emmett Manso and sold to Graham Farms for $2,150.00.
