Houston International Brahman Sale Averages $11,525
 
HOUSTON -   The 2010 American Brahman Breeders Association International Sale drew record crowds and record prices this year, boasting an average sale price of $11,525. Buyers were on hand from United States, Mexico, Panama, and Thailand for this premier annual sale, held on March 3, 2010 at the Houston Livestock Show.

The high selling lot of the sale, JDH Ms. Lawford Manso 513/7 commanded a bid of $31,500 and was purchased by Panama breeder Carlos Lee. This female is a two-year old sired by +JDH Sir Lawford Manso 616/6 and was consigned by J.D. Hudgins, Inc., Hudgins Division.

The high selling flush of the sale was Lady H Lisa Manso 947/7, consigned by STA Ranch. This flush sold for $7,000 and was purchased by Patrick Lim of Thailand. The following day, this female was selected as the 2010 International Champion Gray Female.

The results of this sale indicate a strong interest in Brahman cattle in the United States and internationally,” says Chris Shivers, executive vice president.
 
“Cattleman worldwide see a need for the traits that Brahman cattle bring to the beef cattle industry,” says Shivers. “We have seen a big interest in cattleman who recognize the value these genetics in their breeding programs.”
