This year’s sale was dedicated to Laury “Bulldog” Clement. Bulldog was part of a 1982 Lafourche AgCenter Livestock Advisory Committee that identified cow quality as an area that needed improvement in area cow herds. His involvement in this committee led to the 1st Select heifer Sale in March of 1985. He has been a part of the selection process as well as serving as manager of the sale for the past 25 years.
Last year’s sale was dedicated to Mr. Dalton Landry, retired Lafourche County Agent, who, along with Laury Clement and other cattle producers help start the sale and is still involved with the sale today.
The sale would like to thank Monsanto, Dantin Chevrolet, Raceland Ag Service and Land O Lakes Purina for their sponsorship and support of this sale.
This year’s sale was quite successful and plans are already underway to hold the 2011 sale on March 12, 2011.
