"More than a buckle" is the theme to the 2010 Champions Cow Camp. Around here our most prized possession are our three daughters Megan, Kristen, and Erin.

We enjoy it when they show their steers or heifers and win a prize. But the most important part of their project is the knowledge that is gained, the confidence that is built, and the friends that are made. If you are a parent that agrees with these ideas, read on. I think you will enjoy our camp!

For several years Gayla and I have been toying with the idea of hosting a summer camp for juniors. A camp that is safe, fun, and educational! Our goal is to expose juniors to a wide variety of ideas, experiences and businesses that play key roles in agriculture.

Each summer we will plan activities that we feel will be interesting and enjoyable for the campers.

7:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.- Wake Up/Breakfast
9:00 a.m.- Commercial Cow/Calf Ranch
11:00 a.m. - Wharton Auction Barn
12:00 p.m. - Lunch at Sugarland Mall
3:00 p.m. - American Brahman Breeders Association
5:00 p.m. - Houston Astros Batting Practice and Game
6:30 p.m. - Dinner at the Ballpark
11:00 p.m. - Return Home from Game
12:00 a.m. - Lights out

Thursday - July 8th
8:00 - 9:00 a.m. - Wake up/Breakfast
10:00 a.m.- Gentling calves
12:00 p.m. - Lunch
1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. - Gonzales Feed Mill and Feed yard
5:00 p.m. - Shower and Change for Movie Night
7:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. - Dinner/movie
12:00 a.m. - Lights out

Friday - July 9th
8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. - Wake up/breakfast
10:00 a.m. - Surprise field trip
12:00 p.m.- Conclusion of camp

Cost: $175 per camper; cost includes all meals, lodging, transportation, and activities.
