Jim McCutcheon specializes in training and riding quality reiners , reined cowhorses  and cutting horses for NRHA, NRCHA, NCHA and AQHA competition.  Jim McCutcheon Quarter Horses is a full service equine facility which thrives on providing superior care and training for all your equine needs. Having competed at all levels, on multiple continents, and in a variety of disciplines, Jim understands the importance of placing a horse where they can best reach their potential. Since Jim appreciates each horse as an individual, he uses his experience to evaluate each horse’s talents and can assist in directing those talents towards a discipline that best utilizes each horse’s strengths. 

It is not unusual for Jim to occasionally work a reining horse prospect on a cow to give the horse a tangible reason to rollback and to stop. Using cattle to assist in the training process can be helpful on a multitude of levels and Jim recognizes that horses need to enjoy their jobs in order to perform at their peak. Jim focuses on teaching the horse and does not force the horse into a position that doesn’t fit that horse’s talents.

 
At Jim McCutcheon Quarter Horses our facility is conducive to training your horse for the event that best suits them. We have livestock year round that are used specifically for training horses.
